First-class educators need first-class training facilities and the Tomlinson Centre has been designed by The Learning Trust to bring out the best in everyone who uses it. The £4.5m purpose-built centre provides an extensive range of training courses and events for all professionals engaged in education.
With eleven rooms over two floors and an ICT Centre run by Highwire (City Learning Centre), it offers the best in cutting edge technology.
Our vision is to raise the achievement of all pupils in Hackney and beyond by becoming a centre for excellence for the continuing professional development of teachers and support staff in schools. We are confident that the Tomlinson Centre will play a vital role in the borough’s educational achievements and do hope that you enjoy the modern facilities and high quality training courses it has to offer.
Opened in April 2009 The centre has been named after Mike Tomlinson CBE (former chair of The Learning Trust) who has made a significant contribution to raising education standards in Hackney. We want to continue his legacy by raising the achievement of pupils of all ages throughout the borough. We are confident that the Tomlinson Centre will help us to do just that by ensuring that all teachers have access to first-class training courses and facilities.
